Working together to make Australia Butt Free!

butt-free-melbourne-launch

At the Melbourne launch of our new brand ButtFREE Australia and new website www.buttfree.org.au, we were joined by many of our key stakeholders at the Rydges Melbourne Hotel.

The turnout for the event was positive and confirmed just how committed so many people are to reducing butt littering in Australia.

The event kicked off with drinks and canapés on arrival, and there was lively chatter as guests mingled, caught up with old friends and met new.

Butt Free Australia’s Executive Director Wendy Jones, gave the opening speech to introduce the ‘Understanding attitudes & behaviour behind cigarette butt littering’ research. This was followed by a presentation of the research findings by Rachael Gibson of research house Millward Brown. Our Chairman, Ian Coles finished with an overview of the plans for ButtFREE Australia going forward in 2010, the importance of the new brand and the national awareness campaign to help create a Butt FREE Australia.

Like-minded individuals – all with that one vision in mind came armed with questions, comments and suggestions of ways to reduce the incidence of butt littering.

All in all, it was a highly successful and inspiring event for all participants.

If you would like to know more please check our Research page where you will find a full copy of the research, as well as a summary document.
