Butt Action in Port Adelaide Enfield

Butt Action Port Adelaide

A recent campaign by The City of Port Adelaide Enfield and KESAB Environmental Solutions saw project officers educate and engage businesses, residents and visitors about the impact of cigarette butt litter on the environment and encourage the installation and use of butt litter infrastructure.

The project, centred at the Gulf Point Marina at North Haven, came about after Councillors expressed concern over the growing amount of butt litter in both the public and private areas of the marina.

Armed with resources such as posters, pamphlets, stickers and personal ashtrays, educators were able to visit local businesses handing out information and discussing needs for the future. Several elements of infrastructure were also able to be recommended to Council including tamper resistant butt bins, general litter bins and an increase in signage.

Butt Free Australia was happy to be able to provide some of the resources used in the campaign and wishes the Gulf Point Marina a Butt FREE future!
